Luna, Apayao - Regional Development Council (RDC)-Cordillera Chairperson and Apayao Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. called on all RDC member agencies and local government units as well as other development stakeholders to strengthen their collaborative efforts in pushing for the attainment of the regional development goals in the next six years.
"I am optimistic that our plans will be implemented with the effective leadership of our Sectoral Committee Chairpersons and moreso, of our collective effort," Bulut said during the RDC 2022 Assessment and 2023 Planning Conference and Special Full Council Meeting held on January 26, 2023 in Baguio City.
Expressing his confidence to the Council working hand-in-hand, Bulut said that he sees 2023 as another special year for the region, with all plans now set in action.
For his part, Development Administration (DevAd) Committee Chair and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said, in support to Bulut’s statement, that good governance is a crucial factor to consider in the implementation of all programs and projects due to the Cordillerans.
"The capacity to stop corruption is simply by managing financial mismanagement on projects," Magalong noted, at the same time positioning the Council as a platform in promoting good governance, in support of Bulut’s assertion on the importance of transparency in the management of finances and in the implementation process as a whole.
"May this forum bring us a deeper understanding and appreciation of what each committee needs and identify areas for complementation and resource sharing," Bulut underscored.
