LUNA, APAYAO- Defending champion Pudtol Team showed its volleyball prowess after it trounced Sta. Marcela, 25-6, 25-15, cementing its 5-0 record, held at BGV Jr. Memorial Sports Center, today, February 6.
The presence of the Pudtol Team players was felt throughout the first set as they zoomed to an early 14-point advantage with their well complemented floor and net defense, 18-4.
Sta. Marcela tried to overcome their miscues; however, the well-manned team Pudtol continued their rally, ending the first set in favor of the Pudtol, 25-6.
Sta Marcela team opened the second set with three consecutive points but Pudtol Team quickly caught up and tied the score to nine a piece.
To ensure they remain unbeaten, Pudtol Team sustained their offense as they unleashed strong spikes coupled with excellent receptions and digs.
The clash ended with Pudtol keeping their winning streak, 25-15.
Pudtol Mayor Hector Pascua who was in full support to the team stressed that he hopes that Pudtol will be able to defend their title.
"We hope to defend the title for Volleyball. I believe our kids will do great because as usual we do rigid training and as part of the programs of Local Government Unit of Pudtol, we give them all the support services."
Meanwhile, Tiffany Villegas, Pudtol team captain, emphasized that their training and support from their family and friends have really helped them to win their games.
Pudtol still leads the team standings followed by Luna and Sta. Marcela.
