Luna, Apayao - The Provincial Government of Apayao awarded livelihood assistance to 43 beneficiaries yesterday, February 10, 2023.
Said beneficiaries are the first batch of this year's recipients of the livelihood component of Apayao Socio-economic Efforts Needed for Growth (ASENG) project of the provincial government under the recently approved Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).
The awarding ceremony is part of the series of activities in the celebration of the 28th Foundation Day of Apayao.
Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer (LEDIPO) Philip O. Uba said that the 43 recipients are among the 100 beneficiaries whose assistance are due for release until the second quarter of this year.
Said beneficiaries passed the initial screening and validation of their proposed micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) projects.
Earlier in January, the same recipients underwent orientation-workshop on financial management and basic bookkeeping as part of the social preparation stage of said project, and entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the provincial government articulating their responsibilities to ensure the sustainability of their chosen enterprise.
