Luna, Apayao - The Child Development Center (CDC) with a total worth of 3 million pesos was officially turned over to Barangay Tumog today, August 30, 2023.
This milestone comes after five months of diligent construction efforts by the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).
The turn over ceremony was graced with the presence of key figures such as the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Staff, PEO Staff, dedicated barangay officials, and various stakeholders.
During the ceremony, PSWDO Jocelyn Loyon emphasized the importance of prioritizing Child Development Workers. She stressed the need for an increase in their honorarium and recognized the heavy workload the workers bear.
"To the barangays, the next thing we should do is to prioritize our Child Development Workers. Dapat magkaroon din ng increase sa mga honorarium na natatatanggap nila. It is not really enough to compensate their heavy workload," Loyon stated.
Brgy. Tumog Kagawad Warren Viernes, meantime, expressed his gratitude for the completion of this new facility.
"Daytoy nga paset ket maipaay iti an annak iti Tumog. Maysa kami nga napagasatan nga maikkan iti kastoy nga center para kadagiti annak kada appoko tayo ket agyaman kami unay iti Provincial Government nangruna ken Gob. Butzy," he said.
The 3 million pesos invested in this CDC represents not just a financial commitment but a dedication to the future of yApayao youth and the PGA's desire to provide quality early childhood education and support to the children.
Likewise, it aligns with the broader goal of ensuring that every child has access to a nurturing and educational environment, setting the stage for brighter future of every yApayao.
