Luna, Apayao - The Provincial Government of Apayao inaugurated a Child Development Center (CDC) in Barangay Panay, Santa Marcela, on September 12, 2023 which signals the beginning of better service to the children in said community.
Said center was put up in order to provide a secure environment for children. Vice Mayor Hon. Rolly U. Guiang of said town graced the event.
Likewise present during the blessing and official opening of the CDC were Panay Barangay Captain Hon. Rizza T. Guiang, along with barangay officials, Child Development Workers (CDW) from Santa Marcela, representatives from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) led by Ignacia B. Aman, and the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).
Vice Mayor Guiang conveyed his gratitude to the daycare workers for their dedication to the children and lauded the Barangay officials for their commitment to the development of the Panay facility. He also expressed appreciation for the support of the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA).
Meantime, Mayor Evelyn Martinez, in an interview, expressed thanks for the center and the support of the Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. whose advocacy involves care and preparation for the future of the children in Apayao.
Child Development Centers (CDCs) play a pivotal role in molding the future of the community by nurturing early childhood education, social skills, and emotional well-being.
The PGA allocated 3 million pesos as the designated budget for the center. The establishment of the CDC underscores the collaborative efforts of the community and local government, recognizing the long-term benefits of investing in children's welfare and education.
