Luna, Apayao - Office of the Civil Defense - Cordillera (OCD-CAR) Regional Director Albert A. Mogol made a visit to Apayao, focusing on the province's rehabilitation programs and needs assessment in the aftermath of recent typhoons Egay, Falcon, and Goring.
Director Mogol conducted courtesy calls with the Provincial Governor, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), Municipal Mayors, and other National line Agencies. Said visit aimed at ensuring the proper execution of the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) in Apayao, paving the way for comprehensive province-wide rehabilitation activities, programs, and projects to address the damages and losses incurred due to the aforementioned typhoons.
The Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) is a comprehensive, multi-sectoral, and multidisciplinary approach designed to assess disaster impacts. It prioritizes recovery and reconstruction needs by means of Damage and Losses Assessment (DALA) and Human Recovery Needs Assessment (HRNA).
The visit also served the purpose of facilitating direct coordination for DRRM issues and concerns while seeking valuable recommendations for local rehabilitation initiatives within the province.
RD Mogol expressed deep appreciation to Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. for the support extended by the Apayao PDRRMC in bolstering various DRRM and resiliency efforts and programs throughout the Cordillera region.
Apayao, in the last months, has experienced three typhoons and the responsibility of retrieving bodies of pilots involved in a plane crash. During those times, the provincial government showed quick response and well-coordinated approach in executing their work which facilitated the fast positive developments of the operations.
