Luna, Apayao - "Narigat man ti umadayo iti pamilya aglalo ket babassit pay laeng dagiti anakko, para kanyada met laeng daytoy aglalo ket dumadakkel dan, ngumato met ti kwarta a kasapulan para iti panagbasa da."

This is how Apolinario De La Cruz, a 37-year old from Sta. Maria, Flora, drew his plight in trying his fortune to land a job overseas during the Job Fair held yesterday, February 6, 2023.

De La Cruz was among the 300 hopefuls in the said Job Fair held jointly by the provincial government and the Department of Labor and Employment as part of the celebration of Apayao's 28th Foundation Day.

A graduate of Electrical Engineering, De La Cruz has long been aspiring to work overseas since 2010, to be on his feet fulfilling his duties as a breadwinner and a father of two.

Though he is employed at the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) in his hometown as an electrician under casual capacity at present, De La Cruz said he is hoping that this tough decision of his could be a road towards uplifting his family's living conditions.
