Luna, Apayao – To give chance for students in Marag Valley, Luna to access vast knowledge and needed information for their studies, one (1) unit of Starlink satellite internet was donated to the Marag Valley Agricultural and Trade High School (MVATHS) on February 24, 2024.
This is through the joint effort between the Cordillera Golfers Foundation Inc. (CGFI) and the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA).
This is one (1) of the ten (10) units of Starlink donated by the CGFI to the province, earmarked for utilization across various educational institutions in Apayao.
Board Member Kyle Mariah Chelsea S. Bulut-Cunan highlighted the great impact of this donation, emphasizing the indispensable role of internet connectivity in modern educational frameworks.
Congresswoman Leah Bulut-Begtang, meantime, reminded the students of the right ways to use the internet connection and encouraged them to study hard, so that one day they will be better prepared to lead and be positive forces for the development and progress of the province.
Representing CGFI, President Engr. Arnel Peil reaffirmed their dedication to advancing educational prospects throughout the Cordillera region, particularly in Apayao, while Department of Education – Cordillera (DepEd CAR) Regional Director Estella Leon Cariño acknowledged the essential role played by initiatives bridging the digital divide, especially in remote areas like Marag Valley.
Moreover, Apayao Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Irene S. Angway expressed heartfelt appreciation to CGFI for addressing the critical need for internet access in public schools, streamlining essential tasks for both educators and students alike.
The turnover ceremony was also attended by several notable individuals, including DepEd CAR Assistant Regional Director Ronald Castillo, Apayao Lone District Representative Cong. Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, officials from various Schools Division Offices (SDOs) in CAR, representatives from the (PGA), and other stakeholders.
