Luna, Apayao - Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. delivered words of encouragement to the aeta community in Apayao during the community outreach activity today, March 20, 2023 in Sitio Bayugao, Turod, Luna.
Said outreach activity is part of the Department of Health's (DOH) initiative, 'Bayang Malusog Deep Dive Activity' in partnership with the Provincial Health Office (PHO), and is aimed at engaging the grassroots and the vulnerable sector in far flung areas to conduct leadership learning journey, immersion, and to experience the challenges encountered by its locals. The output shall be used in crafting policies and necessary interventions from the government and its stakeholders.
"Umay kami agpasyar tapno makita mi iti kasasaad iti ubbing tayo nga malnourished, stanted, ken dagijay ubbing nga nasapa nagbuntis," Bulut said stating their initial purpose of the visit to the barrio.
Further, he ecouraged the aeta families to be more involved in local activities. "Haan kayo nga mabain ta haan kayo nga sabsabali. Pare-parehas tayo metlang nga matultulungan iti gobyerno," he said, adding that they should integrate themselves because they are part of the province. "Agparticipate kayo iti activities tapno masanay kayo nga makihalubilo iti kakailyan tayo."
Likewise, during the visit in Bayugao Elementary School, Bulut challenged the learners to persevere in their studies. "Agbasa kayo kuma nga nalaing tapno makacontribute kayon to iti community yu ditoy. Makatulong kayon tu pay iti province tayo."
He also underscored that the aetas should help the efforts of the provincial government in protecting the environment. "You are the guardians of Bayugao falls. Sapay kuma ta tulungan dakami pay nga mang-alaga ken mangprotekta ken daytoy nga tourism destination ditoy probinsiya tayo," Bulut expressed.
