Luna, Apayao - The Department of Health - Cordillera Administrative Region (DOH-CAR) conducted a feedback meeting for the Province of Apayao, following an onsite monitoring operation of health facilities owned by the Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA).
With the said operation conducted by DOH-CAR's Regulations, Licensing, and Enforcement Division, the health facilities in the province are kept in check and ensured to meet the minimum regulatory standards.
The health facilities under scrutiny during the operation included the Amma Jadsac District Hospital (AJDH), Apayao District Hospital (ADH), Apayao Provincial Hospital (APH), Flora District Hospital (FDH), and Santa Marcela District Hospital (SMDH). Each of these institutions plays a vital role in providing healthcare services to the yApayaos.
The feedback meeting brought together stakeholders from the province, including the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee Chairperson for Health, Provincial Health Officer, Chief of Hospitals, Provincial Budget Officer, Provincial Human Resource and Management Officer, Provincial Planning and Development Officer, and the Provincial Civil Service Commission (CSC) Director.
The primary objective of the meeting is to discuss the findings of the 2023 monitoring operation and assess the status of the health facilities in Apayao in relation to the minimum regulatory standards set by the DOH for safety and quality of healthcare services delivered to the residents of the province.
Said meeting provided an invaluable platform for open dialogue and collaboration between the DOH-CAR and the PGA. It allowed participants to exchange insights and expertise, encouraging a stronger partnership aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services in the province.
One of the key takeaways from the meeting was the identification of bottlenecks in the operations of the health facilities. These challenges, once identified, can be addressed through strategic measures and collaborations between the DOH-CAR and the PGA. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the health facilities in Apayao operate efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with the regulatory standards.
