Luna, Apayao - A 25-year old lad Leonardo "LJ" Amorsolo, Jr. from Conner, Apayao advanced to the battle round after stunning three out of the four judges in The Voice Norway's (TVN) blind auditions in his best light rendition of Beyonce's Ave Maria.
With his chosen coach Norwegian singer and songwriter, judge Ina Wroldsen, LJ will be performing in the battle rounds of TVN next month.
"It has always been my dream to perform on an international stage especially in Europe," Amorsolo expressed in an interview describing his journey as the best experience of his young life, "and it was worth it as I been working hard to reach this point."
"I know they [Europe] will appreciate my voice and singing style more outside the Philippines and this has been my inspiration ever since I moved away from my home country." He stressed encouraging all aspiring singers in the country to never give up on their dreams and that anything is possible if they work hard for it.
Year 2020 was when Amorsolo decided to go overseas to pursue his dream to be an international artist. Before his audition in TVN, he already performed at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) representing Norway.
Relating his experience on the big stage, the young artist said, "it was my first time and I had a numb face on stage because I was scared no one would turn," adding that it was his family, especially his partner that gave him the strength in pursuit of his dream.
"He [my partner] was there through my ups and downs. My sisters were also there during the audition and I constantly update my parents and family back in the Philippines as well," he said.
