With a 7-0 start and a storming three point shots, Calanasan nabbed an early headstart fueling their first quarter run with 22 - 14 advantage in the openning period.
Kabugao on the other hand kept the game close with their signature lockdown defense and inside presence but was laid off by a buzzer-beating three by Calanasan's John Marlo Bunot thus cementing Calanasan's eight-point lead as the first half ended, 43-35.
A great showing by Bojie Boday of Calanasan in the third period railing in offensive rebounds and aggressive hits on the basket built more opportunities for his team to further notch up an 18-point advantage at the four minute mark of the third quarter.
Again, desperate to secure a slot to the finals, Kabugao was able to trim the deficit to seven with a barrage of threes and free throw conversions before the end of the third period but were not enough to outplay Calanasan whose team kept unfaltered, 58-51.
Both teams showed firepower in the fourth quarter as they traded baskets. Crowd favorite Marco Busal of Calanasan provided the spark off the bench as he led the rally of his team in his two consecutive three point baskets late in the final frame.
Calanasan held the lead up to the final buzzer giving them the win and another opportunity to vie a seat to the finals. Final score, Calanasan, 80 Kabugao 69.
