Luna, Apayao- The street dancers of Calanasan did not fail their spectators after winning their first championship title in the grand display of rich culture and dances during the Say-am Street Dancing Competition , today, February 12 at the Apayao Eco-Tourism and Sports Complex.
The contingents were awarded with a cash prize of 100,000 pesos and a plaque of recognition.
The team wowed the audience and the judges through their clean execution of steps and well-coordinated moves depicting lapat system while incorporating means of protecting the eagles in the municipality.
According to Mr. Alen Calubaquib, the coach of the winning municipality, they worked well in conceptualizing the dance choreography as they aimed for their first championship title.
" Sobrang nagtulungan po kami para mabuo ng maayos ang concept namin with the help po of our elders," Calubaquib shared in an interview after the awarding ceremony.
Pudtol was hailed as the first runner-up and Flora came as 2nd runner-up.
Provincial Tourism Officer Rebecca Tamakem-Mamba announced during the awarding that Calanasan will perform in the festival of festivals in Baguio.
The list of judges included Mr. Arvin Iquin, Johnmark Binuya and Dominic Cabunot.
