Luna, Apayao - The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Apayao officially launced fire prevention month today, March 1, 2023, with calls for vigilance and preparedness from fire officials and local authorities.
The annual campaign program aims to raise awareness about the dangers of fires and promote measures that can prevent them from happening.
This year's theme, "Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa," highlights the importance of taking proactive steps to prevent the occurence of fires and likewise emphasizing the role of communities in promoting fire safety and preparedness.
The month-long campaign that started with a motorcade and simultaneous blowing of horns of each municipal fire stations will feature various activities such as, Community Relations Week from March 13-17, nationwide simultaneous fire drill, Community Fire Protection Planning, Kaisa Partnership Campaign, among others.
BFP Apayao is urging the public to take measures such as having fire extinguishers, checking smoke detectors, ensuring that electrical wiring and appliances are in good condition, and having an evacuation plan in case of fire.
Fire prevention month is an important annual event that promotes fire safety and awareness. By raising awareness and promoting preventive measures, it can help save lives and protect communities from the devastating results of fire incidents.
