Luna, Apayao - The province of Apayao welcomed its new Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), Irene Angway, during the Kapehan sa Kapitolyo event today, April 3, 2023 in Aliwa Gym, Luna.
Angway, who previously served as the SDS of Schools Division Office (SDO) Tabuk City, was appointed to her new post by the Department of Education (DepEd) CAR as part of the reshuffling of the regional and schools division officials every three years as stipulated in the DepEd Order No. 16 series of 2019.
She traded post with the former SDO Apayao SDS Dr. Benedicta Gamatero who is now in SDO Tabuk.
In her message, Angway expressed her gratitude to Apayao officials for the trust and confidence they have placed in her. She acknowledged the challenges facing the education sector, especially in its pandemic recovery efforts, and promised to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the students, teachers, and school personnel are met.
Angway also emphasized her commitment to upholding the DepEd's policies and standards in delivering quality education to the yApayaos. She cited her experience and accomplishments as an educator and administrator, and vowed to continue her advocacy for inclusive and sustainable education in the province.
The installation of Irene Angway as the new Apayao SDS signals a new chapter in the history of education in the province. Her leadership and vision are expected to bring positive changes and improvements in the delivery of quality education to the yApayao youth.
