Luna, Apayao - The Apayao Training Center, one of the provincial government's local economic enterprises, revorded a revenue collection amounting to P4.1 million in fiscal year 2022 from its training and assessment activities, according to figures from the Provincial Treasury.
Some P3.92 million in fees was collected from completed trainings during the year, while assessment fees collected amounted to P228, 413. The ATC presently offers the following programs: Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Dressmaking NC II, Driving NC II, Housekeeping NC II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II and Trainers Methodology Level I. In addition, the center is also an accredited competency assessment center for graduates of the above programs.
While the Provincial Treasury has conservatively pegged its projections for the center's income this year at P2.4 million, ATC OIC-Administrator Jerome Lacambra said that the center is aiming to surpass last year's P4.3 income, especially with the possible launching of additional course offerings such as heavy equipment operation (dumptruck, backhoe/loader and bulldozer) within the second quarter of the year.
According to him, the Center has turned over to the provincial treasury last week an initial collection for the year amounting to P450,336 while payment for training fees amounting to P629,110 payable to the Center is on process at the TESDA office. With these combined, there is a collection of more than P1 million in January alone.
"If we can sustain the aggressive conduct of training during the last quarter of last year, and with the ready availability of scholarships for technical and vocational education, we hope to surpass last year's collection posted by the Center", Lacambra said.
He added that the Center is presently finalizing schedule of training activities during the year, and on the sides, is working in close coordination with the Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Bulut-Begtang and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the sourcing of funds to cover the enrollment of interested individuals in the center's various program offerings.
