Luna, Apayao - The Apayao Training Center (ATC), in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), has initiated the deployment of housekeeping trainees commencing on January 15, 2024 and shall continue until February 29, 2024.
Said deployment is part of the trainees on the job training where they can experience hands-on work in establishments providing accommodation.
Ten trainees have been assigned to Star Jewel Lodge, and Casa Lacuesta, with additional deployments scheduled next week for Santa Ana Villa Saturnina Hotel.
These trainees are beneficiaries of the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP), a flagship initiative by TESDA, entitling them to a daily allowance of Php160. Upon completion of their training, they will undergo assessment procedures to obtain their NC II certificates.
Housekeeping encompasses the provision of a clean, comfortable, safe, and visually pleasing environment and is a critical aspect of hotel, office, and similar operational departments. The course offered by ATC and TESDA aims to enhance the housekeeping competencies of participants, focusing on refining their understanding of cleaning practices, safety protocols, and efficient equipment utilization.
The program seeks to augment the capacity of housekeeping staff to maintain a clean and organized workplace, thereby contributing to overall workplace safety.
By nurturing skill development and recognition, it is anticipated that the initiative will positively influence trainees’ morale and motivation to perform a satisfactory job.
