LUNA, APAYAO - Provincial Tourism Officer Rebecca T. Mamba expressed plans to spearhead the development of a portion of Apayao Eco-Tourism Sports Complex to be established as an 'Art in the Park' gallery this coming summer.
Mamba said this during the opening program for the two-day canvass painting competition that started, today, February 7.
" We are developing this certain area to be Art in the Park which will be a great place in displaying the artworks of our fellow yApayao artists", Mamba said adding that her office sees the project as a good way of promoting the creative sides of yApayao artists.
Art in the Park is a concept introduced by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Cordillera that paved the way to a series of painting competitions last year, one which Mamba said, the province is opting to adopt.
The Tourism Officer noted that once put up, it will spur the interests of more artists especially the youth to venture on creative artworks and thus promoting the beauty of the province as well.
Part of her plan is to assign a space for artists to work and another, an art gallery.
