Luna, Apayao— As part of the Philippine National Police’s long term transformation strategy dubbed as PATROL Plan 2030, the Apayao Police Provincial Office (APPO) held a blended training yesterday, February 22, 2023.
The training is expected to bring a more inclusive approach to maintaining public safety and provision of better police response and services, linking with other institutions, civic groups and agencies.
P.A.T.R.O.L which stands for Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and for Upholding the Rule-Of-Law, aims to empower the province’s police force to take on their vital role of ensuring peace and order in Apayao.
Held at the at the Apayao State College Luna-Campus in San Isidro Sur, the activity was attended by members of the Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD) that include business, academe, local government units, youth, senior citizen, religious, women, media, information and communication technology, LGBTQ, relevant and related NGO, persons with disabilities and PNP council of elders and retirees.
Former Mt. Province Broadcasting Corporation (MPBC) broadcaster and St. Louis Professor Aljhun Guinguino, Jr. who served as the resource speaker during the training.
Acknowledging PATROL as critical in the attainment of AmBisyon Natin 2040 vision of “Matatag, Maginhawa at PanatagnaBuhay” and which implementation is anchored upon the strong partnership of the PNP with the community, Guinguino said, "To effect concrete change and make the PNP great again, there is a need to sustain the integrity of the officers and show real concern through selflessness and volunterism to the community.”
Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee Chair on Peace and Order Chairperson Vincent S. Talattag and Provincial Legal Officer (PLO) Atty. Alyssa Joyce Du-Sampaga also attended said training.
