Luna, Apayao – Apayao local chief executives attended the 14th Asia Pacific Cities Summit (APCS) and Mayors' Forum in Brisbane, Australia where influential city leaders and industry experts convene to share expertise, experiences and knowledge regarding sustainable urban development.
The 2023 APCS aimed to foster international collaboration.
Said summit, which happened on October 11 to 13, 2023, is an avenue for various local leaders to understand the importance of environmental friendly designs and technological breakthrough which they can use in planning for the progress of their communities.
Additionally, thru the summit, they were encouraged to take necessary steps with their pivotal role in the global economy to network and exchange knowledge with other leaders.
Mayors Josephine M. Bangsil of Luna, Hector Reuel D. Pascua of Pudtol, and Atty. Jorico F. Bayaua of Conner, Apayao, participated in this event.
Some of the big topics discussed in the summit included technology, use of data, inclusivity, happiness, and economic growth.
Mayor Pascua, in an interview, said he had great conversations with mayors, diplomats, and municipal leaders from all throughout the Asia Pacific area during the said conference.
With a legacy spanning over 25 years, the APCS remains a vital hub for regional cities to engage globally, exchange ideas, and establish business connections. This Summit serves as a key component of the city's economic development program, aiming to enhance global networks and develop new commercial ties within the region.
