Apayao disburses P4.55 million livelihood aid in 2023


Luna, Apayao - The Apayao Socio-Economic Efforts Necessary for Growth (ASENG) Program under the livelihood component successfully disbursed a total of P4,553,000 in livelihood assistance to 128 beneficiaries in 2023.


Said aid is expected to increase income of beneficiaries and inject fuel to the local economy of communities in the province.


Led by Development Management Officer IV Philip Uba, the ASENG’s livelihood program aims to promote economic development and growth in the province through encouraging qualified individuals or groups to push with their entrepreneurial endeavours.


In a presentation by Uba, it was revealed that all municipalities within the province benefited from the program, with numerous residents receiving financial aid to kickstart their respective livelihood projects.


The capital town, Kabugao, led the ranks with the most number of beneficiaries of 48, receiving a total grant of P1.65 million. Following closely, Santa Marcela had 27 beneficiaries, securing an amount of P960,000 for their respective ventures.



Other municipalities, including Luna, Pudtol, and Flora, also witnessed support from the ASENG program, with 16, 15, and 13 beneficiaries, respectively. Grants of P585,000, P478,000, and P500,000 were allocated to these municipalities.


Residents from Conner and Calanasan also availed themselves of the program, with 4 and 5 beneficiaries, respectively. The amounts granted were P220,000 and P155,000, respectively. The latest round of beneficiaries received their awards on November 21, 2023, at the Provincial Capitol Conference Hall.


Uba emphasized the commitment of the LEDIPO team to continue conducting Information and Education Campaigns (IEC). These campaigns aim to enlighten yApayaos about the intricacies of the investment program and to ensure a wider understanding and participation in the initiative to stimulate local economic growth.
