Imagination could be the only limit to the stories that will be told by the artworks of the 21 participants of the on-going two-day canvass painting competition that started today, February 7, 2023 at AETSC, San Gregorio, Luna, Apayao.
Inspired by the "Art in Park" concept introduced by the Department of Tourism-CAR last year, the competition is part of the celebration of the province's 28th foundation day.
The activity was graced by the Province's first lady, Lisa S. Bulut who gave away sets of canvass painting materials to the participants.
Mrs. Bulut likewise encouraged the artists to work hard and do well and show Apayao's arts.
Aside from the generous cash prizes that await the winners, Provincial Tourism Officer (PTO) Rebecca Tamakem-Mamba said, in an interview, that the activity aims to continue discovering the hidden yApayao talents more importantly, "give opportunity to yApayaos to express and define their experiences and emotions through aesthetic compositions."
Mamba said the artworks from the competition will be exhibited at the AETSC 'Art in the Park' compound this summer season for appreciation.
