Luna, Apayao - The Provincial Government of Apayao (PGA) held an orientation-seminar on financial management and basic bookkeeping for some 90 new grantees of the province's Livelihood Assistance Program (LAP) today, January 18, 2023.
The orientation-seminar is part of the social preparations for LAP beneficiaries as provided for under the newly-approved Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of project ASENG before they will proceed to the pre-implementation stage where they will be assisted in the finalization of their project proposals
Former Cooperatives Development Specialist now Provincial Governor's Office-Consultant Evelyn C. Naval stressed in her lecture that the program aims to engage aspiring business owners in the proper management of their proposed livelihood enterprise and facilitate income generation in their respective households.
Livelihood assistance is one of the many components of project ASENG that aims to help boost economic activities in the province, Naval said. "And we have to safeguard these economic investments of the government by ensuring that you grow and succeed in your chosen businesses."
Local Enterprise Development and Investment and Promotion Officer (LEDIPO) Philip O. Uba for his part said that the provincial government will be constantly monitoring the whole implementation process of their projects.
The rollout of assistance for the 90 beneficiaries will be announced soon, Uba said.
