Manila, Philippines - Seven members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) attended the Provincial Boards Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP), a three-day national convention that started last February 27, 2023.
The annual convention, which was held in Manila Hotel, aims to draw board members from accross the country to discuss issues affecting their respective provinces.
Comprising the province's delagation are Board Members Mcleen Julian, Elmer Molina, Alison Betat, Vincent Talattag, and Ex-Officio Board Members, Wenz Nathaly Cagat-Alferez, Sedolito Bernard Agunos, and Frederick Amid.
During the aforesaid event, the local legislators exchanged ideas and experiences, discussed various topics including local governance, agriculture, infrastructure, and environmental protection.
The convention was also highlighted by messages from the members of the Philippine Senate in which they emphasized the important role of provincial board members in nation-building and encouraged them to work together in addressing challenges faced by their provinces.
The PBMLP convention is an avenue for local legislators to come together, share best practices and discuss issues facing local government units. It also aims to promote the interest and welfare of board members in the country and to enhance their capabilities in serving their respective areas.
