Luna, Apayao - Some 32 successful applicants for the AFP Recruitment Program of the Provincial Government of Apayao officially took oath before Brigadier General Jimmy Larida of the Philippine Marine Corps at the Fort Bonifacio Grandstand, Taguig City yesterday, February 28, 2023, who will be sent immediately at the Camp Gregorio Lim in Ternate, Cavite for a six-month-long rigid military training.
Said recruits are among this year’s batch of 180 young candidate soldiers and nine special enlistees who were commended by BGen. Jimmy D. Larida PN(M) for their courage and patriotism.
Larida further called for the aspirants’ commitment to their mission and reminded them, “The success of a mission relies heavily on the unit not being compromised and, it takes a higher level of discipline in order to move and operate in accordance with the standards of the Corps.
Disposed to a great opportunity to become part of the country’s military force, Guilmart Alayao, 20, a recruit from Calanasan, Apayao, thanked the provincial government led by Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. and the team comprising the province’s recruitement division for being instrumental in drawing up his future, bringing him a step closer to his dream.
The AFP recruitment program is part of the efforts of the PGA to provide livelihood to yApayaos, while at the same time works to assist in curbing lawlessness, criminality and ultimately the total elimination of any presence of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) in the province. - Ronald Badiang
