Flora, Apayao - In a collaborative effort between the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and A&G Training Assessment Center, 25 trainees were provided free training on Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NCII program on October 17, 2023, at Poblacion West Flora, Apayao.
Apart from the free training, said participants were also provided with a total allowance of P36,000.
The scholarship, falling under the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) in BPP NC II, provides a daily benefit of PHP 160 throughout the 18-day training period, with disbursement occurring in two installments — 50% at the beginning and 50% upon completion.
The training allowance, which covers the free assessment fee and training costs, aims to support the beneficiaries.
According to records, the beneficiaries came from diverse backgrounds, including OFWs, children of OFWs, farmers, out-of-school youth (OSYs), indigenous people (IPs), and TESDA alumni, from various barangays in the said municipality.
Luzel B. Pablo, a beneficiary, expressed her thanks: "Lubus po akong nagpapasalamat dahil isa po ako sa napiling nabigyan ng training allowance. Malaking tulong po ito para sa akin para sa daily allowance. Nagkaroon din ako ng knowledge sa training namin. Maraming salamat po sa TESDA family at sa A&G Training Assessment Center."
Ms. Chona Roque, owner of A&G Training Assessment Center, highlighted the importance of such training centers in Flora to contribute to the livelihood of residents in the said town, especially for women facing challenges in finding decent jobs.
