Luna, Apayao - Some 20 trainees from Apayao joined the first batch of the Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) National Certificate II (NCII) course that started yesterday, September 4, 2023.
This 18-day course is offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Apayao Training Center (ATC), with the funding and assistance coming from the Office of the Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang through the STEP Program.
The BPP NC II course combines classroom lectures and hands-on demonstrations to teach students essential skills. These trainees were assessed through direct observation, simulations, and practical demonstrations at the end of each module.
The knowledge and skills given to the participants for bread and pastry making are expected to enable them to excel in the field of baking. The participants will learn to use modern baking tools, utensils, equipment, and follow proper procedures. Additionally, they will gain insights into sanitation, safety practices, and various presentation styles.
The certification process is designed to ensure that graduates meet workplace standards as defined by competency criteria. Those who meet these standards receive certification, giving them a competitive edge in the job market, as many local and international companies prefer hiring certified skilled workers.
ATC and TESDA are actively seeking individuals interested in courses such as Bread and Pastry Production NC II, Dressmaking NC II, Driving NC II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II, Housekeeping NC II, and Trainers Methodology Course Level I.
All residents of Apayao are encouraged to seize this opportunity to receive free training, as stated by ATC Administrator Jerome D. Lacambra.
