Luna, Apayao – Ten trainees, beneficiaries of the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), celebrated their graduation last March 1, 2024, at the Apayao Training Center (ATC) in San Isidro, Luna, Apayao.
The said training was made possible through the efforts and support of Congresswoman Leah Bulut-Begtang who has sought out funding for TESDA scholars in the province and has been a staunch advocate of people empowerment, especially in the provision of jobs and livelihood.
This graduation ceremony marked the successful completion of the Housekeeping NCII training program, a joint effort between the Apayao Training Center (ATC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), spanning 55 days.
The graduates were awarded with Certificate of Completion as proof of their proficiency in housekeeping skills. This certification equips them to pursue sustainable employment opportunities in their field of expertise. The graduates are set to undergo an assessment process as prescribed by TESDA, and those who will pass the assessment shall be awarded a National Certification II (NC II) on Housekeeping.
In his opening remarks, ATC Administrator Jerome D. Lacambra commended the graduates for their dedication and urged them to continue honing their skills. “I hope that all of you will continue to improve. Do not stop learning. Take advantage of the opportunities to learn, grow, and innovate,” he encouraged.
Director Engr. Glenn N. Murphy of TESDA Apayao, emphasized the power of the skills acquired through the training programs, affirming that they serve as a gateway to a brighter future for the graduates. "The skills you acquired from the training we have provided now serve as your ticket to a better future,” said.
Meanwhile, Daphne Razel B. Sabado, a graduate of Housekeeping NCII, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to ATC and TESDA for providing the training opportunity. “Dakkel nga banag iti biyag ko kasi mai-apply ko iti inaldaw nga haan laeng nga tuy uneg ti balay, nangruna iti ballasiw ti taaw. Nanayunan pay ti ammok maipanggep iti housekeeping training,” conveyed Sabado.
Sabado's sentiments echo the sentiment of gratitude shared by many other beneficiaries, underlining the impactful role of education and vocational training in empowering individuals and communities towards a brighter future.
